Charlotte Neighborhood Leadership Awards






Neighborhoods and neighborhood leaders collaborate with City staff to accomplish great things throughout our community. While volunteering can be a thankless job at times, the 2014 Neighborhood Leadership Awards provides you with the opportunity to show your appreciation for the work that neighborhoods do to make our city a great place to live, work and play.
 
Several City departments have crafted special awards to celebrate accomplishments and inspire additional efforts.  The 2014 Neighborhood Leadership Awards categories, and the names of the City departments that will sponsor each award category, are below.


 
·   Community Safety Ambassador

Headlines Barber Shop Collecting Food Donations For Second Harvest Food Bank

Headlines Barber Shop will be colleting food for the Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina thru August 16th.  Their goal is to raise 1,000 pounds of food!!  Be sure to drop off donations to support this great community effort.  - 5309 E. Independence Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28212

Back to School 2014 Library Summer Festival

It's here - we all knew it was eventually coming -- BACK TO SCHOOL 2014!   It's true, we must all begin the work @ wrapping our thoughts around the end of summer, school days and cooler weather.  The Charlotte Public Libraries at Hickory Grove and Sugar Creek will be host  their annual Back To School Festival  August 16th.  The festivities will kick off at 10a but to participate you must  register - which begins at 9A.
The entertaining and educational activiities will surely bring smiles and laughter to kids of all ages!! Registered attendees will also recieve FREE  school supplies.

I Love Charlotte Limpa

On the first Saturday of April, the Queen City recieved a very special community service from youth members of TheJesus Ministry, Inc..... a city wide cleanup/beautifucation day.  Members from this youth cleanup brigade could be seen walking along Albermarle road in East Charlotte picking up debris along the street. ' I Love Charlotte Limpa' is the name of the annual community servie event sponsored by Jesus Ministries.  We send a heartfelt THANK YOU to these young people for their BIG contribution to our city.  Keeping Charlotte beautiful is truly an important responsibility for all Charlotteans.  These young people are a shining example of what can be done to make a positive change in local community.
